As with geographic numbers, we can also port non-geographic numbers (such as 03x and 08x) from several providers. Non-Geographic Number Porting (NGNP) follows a different process to GNP, and as such requires separate agreements. While we're working on finalising NGNP agreements with all of our geographic porting partners, the list of agreements we have finalised is as follows:
- Gamma (inc. hosted clients who have delegated porting)
- Magrathea (inc. hosted clients who have delegated porting)
- Telephony Services (inc. AQL, Gradwell and hosted clients who have delegated porting)
- Virgin Media
As well as requiring separate agreements, NGNP also requires a different validation process for requests. We currently do not have a wizard to automatically submit non-geographic requests, so these must be submitted manually. To do so, please raise a ticket from support.simwood.com or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the number in the subject and all of the following information included in the message:
- Number/s to be ported
- Customer account name
- Customer account number
- Customer address
- Letter of Authority attached
Unfortunately, we're quite restricted in the advice we can offer as to what this specifically means as it varies from provider to provider. Some providers want to see the account information their reseller has with them, while others will want to see the account information the end-user has with their direct provider. The only way to ascertain the correct information is to ensure it's chased up the chain from the current provider to whoever the legitimate LCP is, who should be able to provide correct guidance.
Minimum lead time for all non-geographic ports is 5 working days, while charges are the same as with geographic ports - £10 per number per attempt capped at £50, with resubmissions charged at £10 each.
