What is an "internal port"?
An internal port is when the losing communications party and the gaining communications party are both with Simwood. In this situation, the gaining Simwood customer intends to port the numbers over to their Simwood account. As the Range Holder is already pointing the numbers to Simwood, this involves a slightly different procedure to take place.
Although the process is all within Simwood's capabilities (i.e we don't need to rely on other Communication Providers), as it it still a porting request the minimum lead times still apply. However, if both parties are happy for the port to take effect sooner, we are happy to bring this lead time down to 48 hours (given consent from both parties).
How do I submit an internal port?
The same way you'd submit any other port!
If it's a Geographic Number Port request, these can be submitted via the Portal / API, with Simwood being listed as the "Losing Communications Provider". (More info regarding Geographic Number Port submissions can be found here)
If it's a Non-Geographic Number Port request, you may create a ticket (to porting @ simwood.com) confirming you'd like to import the numbers in question, and we can take it from there.
If you have any further questions regarding internal ports, please drop an email to porting @ simwood.com and we'd be more than happy to help wherever possible.
