Indirect Access (IDA)
Simwood IDA enables you to take advantage of our rates and real-time call control features from any* BT PSTN line using our shared IDA code, 12940
IDA Trunks
Access is restricted to authorised CLIs, you can create and manage IDA Trunks via the API or Portal.
Each trunk is associated with a single access CLI and has all the usual features or a Simwood trunk.
You can use Simwood IDA in many ways;
- Offer low call rates to customers without the need for a SIP device
- Allow remote workers to present their office CLI and bill calls centrally
- Use as a prefix code in a PBX to route outbound calls from a traditional PSTN PBX over the Simwood network.
Dialling with IDA
Your customer simply needs to prefix the number dialed (in standard UK format) with 12940
e.g. a call to 07700900123 would become 1294007700900123
IDA Charges
The outbound leg of the call will be billed at our standard rates (see https://simwood.com/rates) plus an additional small access charge for the IDA service (see our Ancillary Price List).
IDA for Virtual Interconnect
Virtual Interconnect customers looking to use their own IDA codes should contact us for more information. We can divert your IDA code to your own SIP platform so calls arrive like any other inbound call and you can route them accordingly. Virtual Interconnect customers must implement their own access control on IDA services.
* Some landlines may not permit IDA calls. If another Simwood customer has enabled a CLI for the IDA service you will not be able to associate the same CLI with your own account
