All of the steps shown below can be completed in the Simwood Carrier Services Portal or via the API.
The first step in routing calls to or from the Simwood platform via your customers Microsoft Teams account is to add the Microsoft Teams Tenant.
You'll need to locate the domain of the Teams Tenant then add the Tenant from our portal, rather than looking for Simwood within the 365 Admin centre.
You’ll also need to make sure you include a valid Civic Address for the Tenant. Once your Tenant is added, you can start to push numbers from your account, to the Tenant.
This is done by clicking the Numbers option shown next to the Tenant, then the Add Numbers on the bottom right of the page.
You can then add the number you would like to push to the Tenant, making sure to select the Civic Address, then selecting Done.
The number then should appear almost instantly in the Microsoft Teams Admin Centre for the Tenant, ready to be routed as required.
You can then set your rules for outbound calls from the Teams Tenant by clicking the Configure option next to the Tenant.
The Default setting will send outbound calls out via your default Simwood Trunk, but you can choose to associate another Trunk to use the Trunks associated outbound settings.
You can also choose to set a SIP endpoint, with this, we’ll receive calls from the Teams environment and relay them to your chosen endpoint using our usual URI templating options. If you’re a UCaaS provider who wants to offer Teams to your users, this is the way to hairpin the calls through your own platform, even if you eventually send them back to Simwood for PSTN termination.
